Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Java Front Office Software Developer to join a premier financial services team in New York City. This role is critical for the development, optimization, and maintenance of high-frequency trading platforms and front-office tools. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of equity derivatives and the full trading lifecycle, working directly on the trading floor to support real-time business needs. This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week onsite in Manhattan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 100% hands-on front-office Java applications with a focus on low-latency and high-throughput performance.
- Integrate Python scripts for data analysis, quantitative modeling, and automation where necessary to enhance trading desk efficiency.
- Build and refine responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a strong preference for Vue.js frameworks.
- Design and implement complex trading workflows utilizing the FIX protocol for seamless market connectivity.
- Collaborate directly with traders, quants, and risk management teams to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Manage and enhance critical systems including Order Management Systems (OMS), Stockloan systems, and market data distribution feeds.
- Implement sophisticated pricing strategies and quantitative models, specifically focusing on volatility surfaces and real-time P&L calculations.
- Work within specialized platforms such as Quod (OMS) and Murex to ensure integrated financial operations.
- Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive professional experience in Core Java development and backend microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically Vue.js, for building dynamic user interfaces.
- Strong domain knowledge of Equities and Equity Derivatives products.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced trading desk environment or front-office setting.
- Solid educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative financial field.
- Familiarity with database technologies and SQL for managing large financial datasets.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
