Position Summary
We are looking for an expert-level Senior Mainframe Developer to join a mission-critical project for JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) in Wilmington, DE. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in legacy systems, specifically within the financial services sector. The position requires 100% onsite presence and demands immediate technical proficiency to support high-volume, secure banking applications.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain large-scale financial applications using COBOL, CICS, and DB2.
- Perform complex troubleshooting and performance tuning for both batch and online mainframe systems to ensure maximum uptime.
- Collaborate with system architects and business analysts to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Ensure data integrity and system stability within a highly regulated and secure banking environment.
- Participate in rigorous code reviews and technical assessments to maintain high standards of software quality.
- Manage the full software development life cycle (SDLC) from initial design through deployment and post-production support.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe systems with modern distributed platforms.
- Complete mandatory technical evaluations, including Glider assessments, and participate in multi-stage video interviews.
Technical Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in COBOL, with extensive experience in writing and optimizing complex programs.
- Mastery of CICS for online transaction processing in a high-concurrency environment.
- Advanced knowledge of DB2, including complex SQL query design, performance tuning, and database management.
- Deep familiarity with the mainframe ecosystem, including JCL, VSAM, and TSO/ISPF.
- Proven experience in the financial services industry, specifically with banking or payment systems.
- Ability to pass a rigorous technical assessment (Glider) as part of the initial screening process.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $104,000 – $115,000 per year
