Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Onshore Tech Lead with a minimum of 12 to 16+ years of professional software development experience to spearhead the development and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications for Voya Financial. This high-priority role is based onsite at our New York, NY office located at 22 Cortland St. As a technical expert, you will be proficient in both legacy and modern frameworks, specifically .NET Framework, .NET Core, AngularJS, and Angular. You will lead cross-functional teams to design scalable architectures, optimize application performance, and ensure the seamless integration of enterprise solutions.
Technical Core & Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development & Architecture: Develop and enhance complex applications using a blend of .NET Core for modern microservices and .NET Framework for legacy system maintenance. You will contribute to the architectural design of enterprise solutions, focusing on scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Frontend Evolution: Lead the implementation of intuitive user interfaces using Angular and AngularJS, ensuring cross-version compatibility and high performance across the application lifecycle.
- Performance & Quality Engineering: Identify and resolve critical bottlenecks in the codebase to ensure high-speed application performance. You will oversee thorough testing and debugging processes to ensure all application components function seamlessly within the Voya ecosystem.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practices. You will lead code reviews to maintain consistency and quality across all development projects.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business users and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications that align with business goals.
Detailed Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess deep hands-on proficiency in the Microsoft technology stack. This includes extensive experience with C#, ASP.NET, Web API, and SQL Server. On the frontend, a mastery of JavaScript frameworks is essential, particularly the transition from legacy AngularJS to modern Angular (v2+). Experience with cloud integration, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies is highly preferred. The candidate must demonstrate success in leading large-scale projects and mentoring engineering teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills are required to bridge the gap between technical implementation and business requirements.
Work Environment and Expectations
This position requires a full-time onsite presence in the New York City office. Candidates must be local to the area or willing to relocate immediately. As a Tech Lead, you will be the primary point of contact for technical decisions on the project, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of code quality and reliability. You will be responsible for ensuring all application processes, architectural decisions, and code changes are documented for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $195,000 – $265,000 per year
