Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior .NET Application Architect with a strong background in enterprise architecture, cloud migration, and modernization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading complex application assessment and modernization initiatives for large enterprise clients. This is a contract-to-hire position with a 6-month initial duration, offering conversion based on performance. The role requires a hybrid work model, with 2-3 days in the office for local candidates in Herndon, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead application assessment, migration strategy, and modernization roadmap development for large enterprise clients.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership for .NET and Java-based applications.
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure application architectures, including microservices and APIs.
- Oversee the assessment of application portfolios (50-1000+ applications) across heterogeneous technology landscapes.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural best practices and standards.
- Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures and best practices, with a focus on AWS.
- Mentor and guide junior architects and development teams.
- Ensure the successful implementation of modernization initiatives, leveraging modern application frameworks and containerization technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect or Cloud Architect in a large-scale environment.
- 8-12 years of experience in application architecture with specialization in application portfolio assessment, migration strategy, and modernization roadmap development at an enterprise scale.
- 7+ years of hands-on development experience with .NET Framework / .NET Core and Java (Spring / J2EE).
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of application architecture patterns, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services and migration best practices.
- Proven experience leading application assessment engagements for large enterprise clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, containerization, and modern application frameworks.
Work Mode & Location:
- Hybrid: 3 days from Office / 2 days Remote.
- Location: Herndon, VA. Open to East Coast candidates.
- Candidates local to Herndon, VA are preferred for the hybrid model.
Employment Type:
- Contract to Hire (6 months initial duration)
Compensation:
- $72/hour (C2C preferred). Exceptions can be discussed.
