Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise networking, data center infrastructure, and hybrid cloud connectivity. This role is based in Plano, Texas, with a hybrid work model requiring 4 days onsite. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst, Fortinet FortiGate, Palo Alto firewalls, and Microsoft Azure networking (ExpressRoute). The position involves designing, implementing, and supporting highly available, secure, and scalable network environments across on-premises data centers and Azure cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data center network infrastructure including switching, routing, and segmentation.
- Configure and manage Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches (Layer 2/Layer 3, VLANs, vPC, STP, high availability).
- Implement and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Administer Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls, including policy management, NAT, VPNs, and traffic inspection.
- Configure hybrid connectivity using Azure ExpressRoute and Site-to-Site VPNs.
- Manage Azure networking components including VNETs, Virtual WAN, and NSGs.
- Troubleshoot complex network, firewall, and cloud connectivity issues.
- Perform traffic analysis, routing validation, and root cause analysis during incidents.
- Support enterprise services including application traffic, SQL connectivity, and backup routing.
- Monitor network performance using observability and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable operations.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Network Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms.
- Deep understanding of Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking concepts.
- Expertise in routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate (NGFW) and Palo Alto (PAN-OS).
- Experience in hybrid cloud networking (On-Prem + Microsoft Azure).
- Strong troubleshooting skills in enterprise and cloud network environments.
- Experience with high availability and redundancy design.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and observability tools.
- Strong understanding of network security best practices and segmentation.
Advanced / Preferred Skills:
- Expert-level experience with the Fortinet ecosystem, including FortiGate NGFW, FortiSwitch & FortiAP, FortiManager (centralized management), and FortiAnalyzer (logging & compliance).
- Advanced SD-WAN implementation and High Availability (HA) clustering.
- Experience with Palo Alto features such as App-ID, User-ID, and GlobalProtect VPN.
- Strong knowledge of advanced security capabilities including SSL/SSH Inspection, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Anti-malware, and Web Filtering.
- Experience with Azure networking services: Virtual Networks (VNETs), Azure Virtual WAN, Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Familiarity with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Python scripting.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
