Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle CPQ Tech Lead / Technical Architect to spearhead the development and architectural evolution of Oracle CPQ Cloud (formerly BigMachines) for a prominent US-based industrial equipment manufacturer. This role is critical in optimizing the quote-to-cash process for complex engineering products including pumps, valves, and seals. As we move into 2026, the integration of CPQ with advanced ERP and CRM systems like Salesforce is paramount for maintaining competitive advantage in the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and technical architecture of Oracle CPQ Cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise-level best practices and scalable design patterns.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated Oracle CPQ applications, focusing on configuration, commerce modules, and complex document generation engines.
- Architect and implement intricate workflows, multi-step approval processes, transition rules, and granular user profile permissions.
- Engineer and optimize CPQ rules including Recommendation, Hiding, Constraint, and Configured Item Rules to ensure accurate product selection and pricing.
- Write, debug, and optimize high-performance scripts using BML (BigMachines Extensible Language), BMQL, JavaScript, XML, and XSL.
- Drive the integration strategy between Oracle CPQ and external systems, specifically Salesforce CRM and various ERP platforms, utilizing SOAP and RESTful web services.
- Provide comprehensive technical documentation for system architecture, deployment strategies, and maintenance protocols.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews and establish development standards to ensure code quality and system stability.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across onshore and offshore delivery teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle CPQ (BigMachines) in a lead or architectural capacity.
- Expert-level proficiency in BML and BMQL scripting for complex logic implementation.
- Advanced experience with CPQ UI customization using JavaScript and CSS.
- Proven track record of integrating CPQ with Salesforce and enterprise ERP systems.
- Deep understanding of XML, XSL, and modern web service protocols (SOAP/REST).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems in a cloud environment.
- Oracle CPQ Implementation Professional Certification is highly preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year
