Job Title: Senior Oracle Exadata DBA (CODE 411)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Exadata DBA to join our team. This role is critical for managing and optimizing our Oracle database environments, particularly those running on Exadata and Linux within AWS. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in database performance tuning, administration, replication, and high-availability solutions like Oracle Data Guard. You will play a key role in shaping our database strategy and implementing best practices for large-scale, high-volume application systems, supporting application modernization initiatives and ensuring optimal database performance, scalability, and reliability in the cloud.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Oracle database environments (development, test, production) running on Exadata and Linux in AWS.
- Collaborate closely with application developers to define data requirements, design schemas, and assist with SQL development and optimization.
- Support application modernization efforts by providing robust, scalable database solutions.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of application schemas, database structures, and extensions.
- Provide technical support for Oracle databases, including diagnosing and resolving performance, configuration, and availability issues.
- Develop and maintain procedures, standards, and best practices for database operations in cloud environments.
- Administer high-availability and disaster recovery configurations using Oracle Data Guard.
- Implement and manage replication solutions such as Oracle GoldenGate.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and resource management for high-volume workloads.
- Conduct regular database backups, restores, patching, and upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Senior Oracle Exadata DBA.
- Strong expertise in database performance tuning, administration, replication, and high-availability solutions (e.g., Oracle Data Guard).
- Experience managing Oracle databases on Exadata and Linux platforms, preferably within an AWS environment.
- Proficiency in implementing and managing replication solutions like Oracle GoldenGate.
- Skilled in database performance tuning, query optimization, and resource management for high-volume applications.
- Experience with database backups, restores, patching, and upgrades.
- Familiarity with application modernization initiatives and supporting database components for scalability and reliability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and other stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $80 – $90 per year
