Role Overview

The Senior Product Owner for Data & Analytics is a pivotal leadership position designed to bridge the gap between complex business objectives and technical data execution. Located in the heart of New York City, this onsite hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to shape the data strategy of a forward-thinking organization. As the primary liaison for newly formed data teams, you will be responsible for translating high-level business requirements into actionable technical roadmaps. This role requires a deep understanding of data lifecycles, from ingestion and modeling to governance and analytics, ensuring that every data product delivered meets the highest standards of quality and business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary Data Product Owner for multiple engineering teams, providing clear direction and vision for data-driven initiatives.
  • Translate complex business needs into detailed technical requirements, creating and managing Epics and User Stories within Jira.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams to implement defined acceptance criteria, ensuring all deliverables are completed and signed off according to project timelines.
  • Oversee end-to-end project management for data products, keeping projects on track and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to executive leadership, communicating project status, milestones, and strategic value.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to maintain a high-velocity development environment.
  • Drive the data strategy by identifying opportunities for data architecture improvements and enhanced data modeling techniques.

Technical Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a Product Owner within the Data & Analytics domain, with a proven track record of delivering complex data solutions.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms, specifically Snowflake and AWS (including Athena).
  • Deep understanding of Data Warehousing principles, Data Architecture, and Data Modeling.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance frameworks and Data Strategy development.
  • Proficiency in using Jira for backlog management, Epic creation, and sprint tracking.
  • Knowledge of Data Engineering and Cloud Application data strategies is highly desirable.

Your ability to synthesize technical constraints with business aspirations will be the key to delivering products that are both technically sound and commercially viable.

Work Environment and Duration

This is a 6-month contract engagement based in New York City. The role follows an onsite hybrid model, requiring regular presence in the NYC office to facilitate collaboration with local teams and leadership. This position offers the chance to work on cutting-edge data projects using industry-leading technologies like Snowflake and AWS, providing a platform for professional growth in the evolving field of data analytics.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
