Position Summary: Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

Core Responsibilities
- Architecting and maintaining high-performance web applications using the Ruby on Rails framework.
- Designing and implementing robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support diverse frontend and mobile requirements.
- Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to industry best practices and modern design patterns.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Frontend Engineering, and Quality Assurance, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Leading code reviews and providing mentorship to junior developers to maintain high standards of code quality and team growth.
- Optimizing database queries and application performance to handle increasing user loads and complex data structures.
- Managing release cycles and ensuring smooth deployments through automated CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Fixing bugs and improving overall system performance through proactive monitoring and debugging.
Technical Requirements for 2026
- 6-8 years of professional software development experience with a focus on backend systems.
- Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails or a strong working knowledge of Python with a willingness to transition into a Rails-centric environment.
- Deep understanding of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MySQL, including schema design, indexing, and optimization.
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and basic knowledge of CI/CD workflows.
- Strong foundation in unit testing and automated testing frameworks to ensure software reliability and prevent regressions.
- Ability to upskill and adapt to new technologies, particularly integrating Python-based microservices into a Rails ecosystem.
