Role Overview: Senior SDET in Banking
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quality Engineer (SDET) with over 12 years of professional experience to join a critical digital transformation project within the banking sector in Charlotte, NC. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and security of Internet Banking applications for First Horizon. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end quality lifecycle, from initial test planning and design to the deployment and maintenance of complex automation frameworks. This position requires a deep understanding of both web and mobile technology stacks, specifically focusing on modern JavaScript frameworks and mobile-specific testing tools.
Technical Requirements and Mobile Testing Focus
The ideal candidate must demonstrate mastery in the following areas:
- Core Languages: Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and HTML/CSS.
- Frameworks: Extensive experience with React, TailwindCSS, and NextJS.
- Automation Tools: Hands-on expertise with Playwright, Storybook, and viTest for web applications.
- Mobile Testing Specialization: Proven experience using Expo, Maestro, or Deque for mobile application testing, specifically within React Native environments.
- API & Cloud: Strong experience testing RESTful Web Services and applications deployed in Kubernetes/Cloud environments.
- Data Management: Proficiency in database management systems and the handling of synthetic data for testing purposes.
Banking Domain and Professional Expectations
Given the nature of the financial services industry, the candidate must have a strong sense of ownership and a focus on high-quality, secure results. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, designers, and product managers to deliver a top-notch digital experience.
- Leading test planning and design sessions, ensuring all business requirements are covered by robust test cases.
- Managing defect tracking and accountability for resolution within an Agile development methodology.
- Participating in a 24×7 on-call support rotation to ensure the continuous availability of banking services.
- Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous deployment.
This is a long-term contract opportunity requiring onsite presence in Charlotte. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field. The role demands a passionate, inquisitive approach to technology and the ability to independently drive solutions in a complex, dynamic environment.
Special Requirements
Banking Domain experience required; Onsite Charlotte, NC; Available for on-call support 24×7 on a rotational basis; Experience with Expo, Maestro, or Deque for mobile testing is mandatory.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
