Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Linux, microservices, and cloud integration for a hybrid contract role. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior capacity. This position requires local candidates to the Thorofare, NJ area due to the on-site interview and hybrid work model (2-3 days per week on-site).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain microservices and cloud-based solutions.
- Implement and manage service orchestration and REST APIs.
- Work with software update, Over-The-Air (OTA) technologies, commissioning, remote device management, and telemetry.
- Utilize Python for development or demonstrate a rapid learning ability for the language.
- Engage in front-end development using React.
- Manage and orchestrate services using systemd.
- Utilize Git or equivalent version control systems for code management.
- Perform unit, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware and software interactions.
- Adapt to and learn multiple programming languages and tools as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
- Strong proficiency in Linux (system services, networking, permissions, shell tools).
- Experience developing microservices, service orchestration, and REST APIs.
- Experience with cloud integration platforms.
- Proficiency in Python or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience with React for front-end development.
- Familiarity with systemd for service management and orchestration.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Proficiency in various testing methodologies including unit, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies rapidly.
Job Details:
