Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a deep specialization in Backend development using Golang. This is a long-term contract opportunity (12+ months) designed for a technical leader who has previously excelled in high-scale environments such as Capital One, Meta, or NVIDIA. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and maintaining robust backend services that power complex applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services using Golang as the primary programming language.
- Develop and maintain GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and federation concepts to provide efficient data fetching for client applications.
- Architect cloud-native solutions within the AWS ecosystem, leveraging services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and IAM.
- Containerize applications using Docker and manage orchestration through Kubernetes to ensure seamless deployment and scaling.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins to automate testing and deployment processes.
- Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to design efficient data models and perform complex queries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features in an agile environment.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience with Go (Golang) in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of GraphQL and its implementation in microservices architectures.
- Proven track record with AWS cloud services, specifically serverless and containerized workloads.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Proficiency in database management, including schema design and performance tuning for SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a background working with major tech firms or financial institutions. Specifically, we are looking for individuals who have previously contributed to projects at Capital One, Facebook (Meta), NVIDIA, Twitter (X Corp), or similar tier-1 organizations. This experience is critical as it ensures the candidate is familiar with the rigorous engineering standards and high-concurrency challenges typical of these environments. Candidates must be located within the EST or CST time zones to facilitate effective team collaboration.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
