Job Overview:
Comspark Group, a global leader in technology solutions and resource outsourcing, is seeking a highly experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator. This role is with one of our direct clients and offers a hybrid work arrangement. The position requires a strong background in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, data governance, and DevOps practices. This is a critical role for managing and optimizing our client’s database infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Perform in-depth performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server instances and queries.
- Implement and support data integrity and governance policies and procedures.
- Provide support for Data Warehouse architecture and reporting initiatives.
- Manage database security, compliance, and access controls.
- Implement and support automation and DevOps practices for database management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient data access patterns.
- Work with legacy data structures and assist in data cleansing efforts.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in SQL Database Administration & Operations.
- 3+ years of experience in Performance Tuning & Optimization.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Integrity & Governance Support.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Warehouse Architecture & Reporting Support.
- 3+ years of experience in Security & Compliance.
- 3+ years of experience in Automation & DevOps Support.
Preferred/Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in judicial, government, or public sector environments.
- Power BI backend optimization.
- Understanding of .NET application data access patterns.
- Experience with Always On Availability Groups.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
- Experience cleaning legacy data structures across multiple counties or jurisdictions.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be local to South Carolina.
- Must be able to submit Local DL or any alternate resident proof.
- State/public sector experience is required.
Contract Details:
- Contract Duration: 12+ Months
- Employment Type: Hybrid (Onsite and Remote components)

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
