Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Support Engineer specializing in SAP Data Archiving for a remote, part-time contract role. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in SAP Data Archiving, content server, and ATTP, with a minimum of 14+ years of relevant experience. This position involves providing exceptional remote support for mission-critical SAP applications, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering solutions for global clients across various SAP environments (4.x, ECC, and HANA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert remote-based support for SAP Data Archiving, including configuration, installation, and administration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues using methodical approaches based on deep knowledge of SAP applications, functionality, and technology.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs, support business changes, and deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience.
  • Offer remote functional support and training for specialist SAP modules.
  • Support client customizations and provide advice on implementation best practices.
  • Develop application break fixes for critical product defects.
  • Create scripts to identify, analyze, and correct data issues.
  • Act as a technical/functional advisor for assigned key accounts.
  • Provide hands-on assistance using proprietary tools in test environments or via remote client connectivity.
  • Contribute to a 24x7x365 support organization, requiring flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and regular monitoring of emails outside standard business hours.
  • Collaborate with team members in a virtual environment to share expertise across different client situations.
  • Contribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes to enhance the client experience.
  • Ensure the setup of Source System for BW, BEx Web in NW20004s.
  • Manage transport strategy for portal content utilizing CTS+ or other SAP transport tools for JAVA-based development.
  • Install and configure Apache as the Reverse Proxy.
  • Configure cluster installations for load balancing.
  • Install and configure TREX.
  • Manage backup/recovery schemes for the portal.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 14+ years of experience in SAP Data Archiving.
  • Extensive experience in SAP Data Archiving configuration, installation, and administration.
  • Proven track record in multiple SAP implementation or upgrade projects.
  • Deep working knowledge and understanding of supporting business processes.
  • Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise with SAP R/3, ECC, SAP Netweaver, SAP Knowledge Management, including full life-cycle implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance/patching mechanics and SAP architecture.
  • Proficiency in setup of Source System for BW, BEx Web in NW20004s.
  • Installation, Configuration and Administration of NWDI and NWDS.
  • Excellent knowledge of administering and managing SAP J2EE Web Application Server.
  • Excellent knowledge of J2EE tools: Visual Administration, Configtool, SDM, System Analyzer, and other configuration tools.
  • Portal User Management Engine (UME) configuration with SAP R/3, LDAPs.
  • Single Sign-On Configuration between Portal and SAP Systems.
  • Enabling SSL for Enterprise Portal and Knowledge Management & Collaboration.
  • Superb troubleshooting skills and tenacity in problem-solving.
  • Passionate focus on customer support and ability to build long-term, successful working relationships with clients.
  • Strong knowledge of key application functionality, tables, and relationships.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP customization/extension methodologies.
  • Excellent development skills using SAP toolset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
  • Extreme focus on client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home-based office in a virtual environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • SAP certification(s).
  • Knowledge of localizations: architecture, implementation, and key functionality.
  • Knowledge of SAP Industry Solutions.
  • Knowledge of any Country Specific Solutions.

  • Experience with localizations and global implementations.
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple SAP modules across releases (4.x & ECC, Enterprise Portal 5.x, 6.x, & 7.x4.x, NW 2004s, ECC, Netweaver 7.x).
  • Proficiency with SAP product module/suite business processes, navigation mechanics, configuration requirements, integration with other modules, and knowledge of underlying technology.

Employment Type:

Contract (0-20 Hours Per Week) Part-Time. Hours are flexible and depend on project needs.
