Role Overview
We are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our product development team. This role requires someone who can deeply understand product requirements, design meaningful test cases, and analyze system behavior, rather than simply executing UI tests. The ideal candidate will work closely with developers, product managers, and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) to ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle. This role sits at the intersection of product understanding, test strategy, and technical analysis, helping ensure that testing is an integral part of the engineering process.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Design & Execution
- Design, maintain, and execute structured test cases based on product specifications, technical designs, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate business requirements and system logic into effective test coverage.
- Validate complex workflows including user flows, configurations, permissions, reports, and system scans.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Defect Analysis
- Identify, reproduce, and document defects with clear steps and contextual details.
- Perform root cause analysis by reviewing logs, responses, and system behavior.
- Provide developers with actionable insights to accelerate issue resolution.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and SDETs during development cycles.
- Provide test scenario input and business logic clarification to support automation efforts.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, and release discussions.
- Quality Visibility
- Ensure QA activities are visible and traceable across the development lifecycle.
- Link test cases, execution results, defects, and releases to development tasks and requirements.
- Maintain accurate and updated test documentation.
Tools & Technologies
- Test Management: TestRail
- Work Tracking: Azure Boards
- Testing Types: Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, Exploratory Testing
Nice to Have
- API testing experience
- Understanding of automation tools such as Playwright
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- Experience testing SaaS platforms or security products
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to design test cases from specifications rather than only UI behavior
- Understanding of:
- Data flows
- State transitions
- Business rules
- Failure scenarios
- Experience debugging issues using logs, system responses, and data inspection
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain issues clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Skills
- API testing using tools like Postman or similar
- Basic understanding of test automation frameworks
- Experience working with SaaS products or configuration-driven systems
- Familiarity with Playwright or API automation
