About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tomcat Engineer (Middleware Engineer) with strong expertise in Apache Tomcat administration, automation, and container platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, optimizing, and supporting Tomcat environments in large-scale, production-grade Linux infrastructures. This role requires hands-on experience with OpenShift, Ansible, and middleware platforms, along with a strong focus on performance tuning, security, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, optimize, and support Apache Tomcat environments.
- Implement and manage automation using Ansible.
- Deploy and manage applications on OpenShift container platform.
- Perform JVM tuning and performance optimization.
- Manage DNS and load balancing configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments.
- Ensure the security and high availability of middleware platforms.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in middleware platforms, with a strong focus on Apache Tomcat.
- Hands-on experience with Tomcat build, deployment, and support.
- Proficiency in RedHat Linux environments.
- Experience with OpenShift container platform.
- Strong knowledge of JVM tuning and performance optimization.
- Understanding of DNS management (CNAME, URL creation).
- Knowledge of load balancing concepts.
- Experience with Ansible (mandatory).
- Experience with Chef (JSON configurations).
- Familiarity with Autosys job scheduling.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Additional Information
- This is an onsite position located in Dallas, TX.
- The duration of the contract is 6 months.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
