Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior WebSphere Administrator to join our team for a remote, 2-year contract position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in WebSphere Application Server management, containerization, and orchestration, with a strong focus on ensuring high availability and performance of critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level administration and management of WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments, including Network Deployment and Base editions.
- Design, implement, and maintain high-availability architectures, including clustering, load balancing, and failover solutions.
- Manage containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestrate Liberty workloads within OpenShift Container Platform.
- Support containerized Liberty implementations using Podman.
- Develop and utilize automation frameworks and tools to streamline operational tasks.
- Oversee the full installation, configuration, and ongoing administration of WAS.
- Manage enterprise repository for WebSphere and IHS binaries.
- Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, and plan and execute version migration strategies.
- Deploy and maintain WebSphere Liberty on traditional virtual machines.
- Customize server configurations to meet diverse application requirements.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash/Python).
- Experience with Ansible for automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Git version control.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in WebSphere Application Server Management.
- Expertise in Containerization & Liberty.
- Proficiency in Docker.
- Experience with Orchestration of Liberty workloads in OpenShift Container Platform.
- Experience supporting containerized Liberty implementations using Podman.
- Experience with Automation frameworks/tools.
- Experience with full installation, configuration, and administration of Network Deployment and Base editions.
- Experience in design and implementation of high-availability architectures (clustering, load balancing, failover).
- Experience with Enterprise repository management for WebSphere and IHS binaries.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
