Job Title: Senior Workato Developer/Lead Orchestration Engineer

This is a long-term contract role (C2C/W2) for a Senior Workato Developer/Lead Orchestration Engineer, requiring onsite presence in Washington, DC.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Workato Developer/Lead Orchestration Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and a deep, hands-on understanding of integration middleware and iPaaS platforms, with a specific emphasis on Workato. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing robust integration solutions to support critical business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of integration solutions using the Workato platform.
  • Develop and maintain Workato Recipes, manage APIs, and configure RLM (Run-time Lifecycle Management).
  • Utilize Workspaces for efficient development and deployment.
  • Implement and manage On-Premise Agents (OPAs) for secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Work with various integration patterns including REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and webhooks.
  • Handle asynchronous integration scenarios effectively.
  • Perform complex data transformations using JSON, XML, and CSV formats.
  • Implement and manage secure authentication methods such as OAuth 2.0, SAML, and JWT.
  • Utilize programming/scripting languages like Ruby (essential for Connector SDK), Python, or JavaScript to build custom connectors and logic.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure the quality, scalability, and performance of integration solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Workato features and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Level III experience: 6 to 9 years in software engineering or IT.
  • 3+ years specifically dedicated to integration middleware/iPaaS (Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar).
  • Deep, hands-on experience with the Workato platform (Recipes, API Management, RLM, Workspaces, and On-Premise Agents/OPAs).
  • Mastery of API concepts: REST, SOAP, GraphQL, Webhooks, and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in data formats and transformations: JSON, XML, CSV, and complex data transformation logic.
  • Strong understanding of secure authentication methods: OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, Mutual TLS.
  • Proficiency in Ruby (essential for Workato Connector SDK), Python, or JavaScript.
