Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Workday Financial Consultant to join a critical finance transformation project in McLean, VA. This is a high-impact role where you will be instrumental in transitioning our client’s financial ecosystem from Oracle to Workday. The team is currently preparing for a major go-live scheduled for July 2027, and we need a consultant who can bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern Workday architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of Workday Financial components, focusing on core finance modules.
- Manage complex configurations for Accounts Payable (AP) and Supplier Management.
- Oversee Banking and Settlement processes within the Workday environment.
- Configure and optimize Travel and Expense (T&E) modules to meet business requirements.
- Provide expert knowledge sharing to internal teams to build in-house Workday capabilities.
- Collaborate with implementation partners and Big 4 consultants to ensure a seamless transition.
- Analyze existing Oracle workflows and map them to Workday best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues during the build phase.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience in building and designing Workday Financial ecosystems.
- Deep understanding of Core Finance, AP, and Banking modules.
- Proven track record in large-scale ERP migrations, specifically from Oracle to Workday.
- Strong background as an implementation consultant, preferably with experience at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, KPMG, etc.) or a Workday Partner.
- Ability to view the Workday ecosystem holistically rather than focusing on isolated modules.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management and knowledge transfer.
Project Environment
This project is situated within the Finance department of a major enterprise. The focus is not merely on supporting an existing system but on the architectural build-out of a new Workday instance. Candidates must demonstrate a ‘builder’ mindset, capable of navigating the complexities of a multi-year implementation roadmap. The duration is initially set for 12 months with a high likelihood of extension as the 2027 go-live approaches.
Special Requirements
ONLY INDEPENDENT VISA HOLDERS. Must be local or nearby McLean, VA or Richmond, VA. Transitioning from Oracle to Workday.
