Role Overview

Siri InfoSolutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow CMDB Architect for a critical 6-month contract engagement based onsite in San Francisco, California. As a lead architect, you will be responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and governance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within a complex enterprise environment. This role requires a deep understanding of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and the ability to align technical configurations with business outcomes. You will be the visionary behind the data structure that powers the entire IT ecosystem, ensuring that every piece of hardware, software, and service is accurately represented and managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the overarching CMDB architecture, ensuring a robust data model that supports IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) processes.
  • Design and govern Configuration Item (CI) classes, defining clear relationships and managing the full lifecycle of assets from procurement to retirement.
  • Architect and implement ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping solutions, utilizing both horizontal and top-down mapping techniques to provide visibility into business services.
  • Establish and enforce CMDB governance frameworks, identifying data owners and implementing quality controls to maintain data integrity.
  • Monitor and continuously improve CMDB Health metrics, focusing on completeness, correctness, and compliance across the entire infrastructure.
  • Design complex integrations between ServiceNow and external platforms, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), monitoring tools, and legacy asset management systems.
  • Act as the primary CMDB design authority, providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders, delivery teams, and executive leadership.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring the CMDB meets regulatory and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the CMDB supports broader digital transformation initiatives.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, specifically focusing on CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping modules.
  • Profound understanding of the CSDM 4.0/5.0 framework and its application in real-world enterprise scenarios.
  • Proven track record of designing CMDB solutions for large-scale, complex global organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of modern infrastructure components, including server virtualization, containerization, and cloud-native services.
  • Experience with JavaScript, GlideScript, and ServiceNow API integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical complexities into business-friendly language.
  • Familiarity with ITIL v4 practices and how they integrate with ServiceNow modules.

Project Impact and Environment

In this role, you will be working at the heart of a major technological hub in San Francisco. The project involves consolidating disparate data sources into a single source of truth, which is vital for the client’s operational efficiency and security posture. You will be expected to navigate a fast-paced environment, providing leadership and technical direction to a team of developers and analysts. Your work will directly influence the organization’s ability to respond to incidents, manage changes, and optimize cloud spend. This is a high-visibility role that offers the opportunity to set the standard for CMDB excellence within a Fortune 500 environment.

Professional Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in Discovery or Service Mapping preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years dedicated to ServiceNow architecture.
  • Ability to work onsite in San Francisco for the duration of the contract.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
