Position Summary
Quantum World IT is seeking a highly specialized ServiceNow CMDB Architect for a critical onsite engagement in San Francisco, CA. This role is designed for a subject matter expert who can take full ownership of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) ecosystem within a large-scale enterprise environment. You will be responsible for defining the strategic vision for the CMDB, ensuring alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework, and driving data integrity across the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and the ability to bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and business service delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and own the overarching CMDB architecture, data model, and strategic alignment with the CSDM framework.
- Design and govern Configuration Item (CI) classes, relationships, and the entire lifecycle management process to ensure a single source of truth.
- Architect and implement ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping (both horizontal and top-down) to automate the population of the CMDB.
- Establish robust CMDB governance structures, defining data ownership and implementing rigorous quality controls.
- Monitor and continuously improve CMDB Health metrics, focusing on completeness, correctness, and compliance via the CMDB Health Dashboard.
- Design and manage complex integrations between ServiceNow and external cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), monitoring tools, and asset management systems.
- Act as the primary CMDB design authority and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all internal stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Support critical audits, regulatory requirements, and security compliance initiatives by providing accurate configuration data.
- Lead the implementation of IRE (Identification and Reconciliation Engine) rules to prevent duplicate data and ensure data consistency.
- Collaborate with IT Operations and Application owners to map business services to underlying infrastructure components.
- Provide technical guidance on the use of the ServiceNow platform to optimize ITOM (IT Operations Management) workflows.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on IT Service Management.
- Extensive hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, specifically within the CMDB and ITOM modules.
- Deep, demonstrable understanding of the CSDM 4.0 (or latest) framework and its practical application.
- Proven track record of designing CMDB solutions for complex, global enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure components, including servers, networking, databases, and cloud-native services.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data relationship issues.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting architectural concepts to executive leadership.
Special Requirements
Onsite San Francisco; Visa and Photo ID required for submission; requires MMDD of DOB, Passport No, and potential TCS ID for sub-contracting.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $190,000 – $260,000 per year (Estimated)
