Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ServiceNow CMDB Business Analyst to join our enterprise IT team in Philadelphia, PA. This onsite position is critical for the strategic management of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and the broader IT Service Management (ITSM) ecosystem. As a key contributor, you will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and business requirements, ensuring that our digital assets are accurately tracked, mapped, and managed throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the ITIL framework and have a proven track record of success in complex ServiceNow environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive requirements gathering sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to define CMDB and Service Mapping objectives.
- Oversee the configuration and optimization of ServiceNow Discovery, including Cloud Discovery modules, to ensure automated and accurate population of the CMDB.
- Design and implement Service Mapping for critical business services, creating a clear line of sight between infrastructure components and business outcomes.
- Manage and troubleshoot MID server configurations, ensuring reliable data ingestion from diverse network segments.
- Utilize ServiceNow Integration Hub and out-of-the-box functionalities to connect the CMDB with external data sources and third-party monitoring tools.
- Apply ITIL v3 or v4 best practices to configuration management processes, maintaining high data integrity and compliance standards.
- Operate within an Agile SCRUM methodology, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive continuous platform improvement.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data models, process flows, and integration maps.
- Collaborate with IT Security and Compliance teams to ensure that the CMDB supports audit requirements and vulnerability management.
- Provide expert guidance on ServiceNow features and roadmap items to business leaders, translating technical capabilities into business value.
Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience specifically focused on ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
- Proficiency in networking protocols and data formats, including HTTP, TCP, SNMP, SOAP, and REST.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex data discrepancies and technical bottlenecks.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, results-oriented environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $118,000 – $158,000 per year (Estimated)
