ServiceNow CSM Developer – Healthcare Insurance Sector – Remote Contract W2 2026

We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and experienced ServiceNow Developer with a strong focus on Customer Service Management (CSM) to join our client, a prominent player in the Healthcare Insurance sector. This is a long-term contract position with a strong possibility of conversion to a full-time employee (FTE) status, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth and stability. While primarily a remote role, candidates should be prepared for occasional onsite meetings, potentially including face-to-face interviews in Reston, VA, if local.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of dedicated ServiceNow development experience within the CSM space, coupled with essential current health insurance customer experience. You will play a pivotal role in maturing Customer Service Products built on the ServiceNow platform, working closely with key business units and process managers to design, develop, and implement robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a lead ServiceNow developer for CSM applications, providing expert support, solutions, and process enhancements.
  • Drive the maintenance, continual service improvement, and implementation of new capabilities on the ServiceNow platform, specifically within the Customer Service Management module.
  • Perform complex analysis, design, development, automated unit and integration testing, and debugging of computer software.
  • Design, code, test, develop, and document application programs for various computer systems, ensuring high quality and performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with end-users and project stakeholders to meticulously define system scope, objectives, and detailed software requirements.
  • Manage modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures, ensuring system stability and optimal performance.
  • Lead stakeholder and product owner meetings to gather and refine software requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications.
  • Develop highly complex systems and solutions, leveraging advanced ServiceNow functionalities and best practices.
  • Customize and configure ServiceNow modules through the extensive use of scripting (JavaScript is a must-have) and UI development to tailor the platform to specific business needs.
  • Implement templates and dashboards within the ServiceNow platform to enhance user experience and data visualization.
  • Ensure seamless integration of ServiceNow with other enterprise systems using various APIs, SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS.
  • Contribute to the overall architectural design and strategy for the ServiceNow platform, particularly for CSM.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer, with significant expertise specifically within the Customer Service Management (CSM) module.
  • Must possess current and demonstrable experience working within the Health Insurance Customer Experience domain. This is a critical requirement.
  • A valid ServiceNow certification is mandatory (any Developer version is acceptable).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript is required for customization and configuration of ServiceNow modules.
  • Experience with the Zurich version of ServiceNow is a specific requirement.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing templates and dashboards within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Fundamental understanding and practical experience with key technologies relevant to ServiceNow integration solutions, including: ServiceNow APIs, SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, and FTPS.
  • Experience with UIB type of business rules, UI actions, UI builder, playbook experience, and flow designer experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Location & Employment Details:

This is a remote position, but candidates must reside in one of the following approved states: Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Texas, or Florida. Occasional onsite meetings may be required, and face-to-face interviews will be conducted in Reston, VA, for local candidates. This is a long-term contract with a strong potential for conversion to a full-time employee (FTE) status, offering stability and growth within a leading healthcare insurance organization.


Special Requirements

Candidates from Approved States ONLY: DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, PA, DE, NY, NJ, TX, FL. Current Health Insurance Customer Experience Must. Work mode: Mainly remote, but occasional onsite meetings will occur. Interview Mode: 1-2 Video then F2F in Reston- if local. Long term contract position with strong possibility of conversion to FTE status.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $150,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
