Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Developer or Architect to join our team. This role is crucial for leading and implementing ServiceNow solutions, focusing on ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of ITIL processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Technical Lead with extensive experience in ITIL Process Definition and Integration Solutions.
  • Understand customer business requirements and translate them into functional requirements.
  • Review requirements for accurate estimation and project planning.
  • Lead at least two Implementation projects in ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, and integrations, including one complete ServiceNow Implementation Lifecycle.
  • Lead ITOM implementations, including Discovery schedules, MID Server management, and troubleshooting.
  • Architect integrations with robust retry logic, security controls, and API governance.
  • Ensure CMDB health through governance, audits, and automated correction.
  • Collaborate with application owners to build service maps and dependency models.
  • Leverage expertise in ServiceNow deployments, ITSM migrations, consolidations, upgrades, integrations with third-party tools, Orchestration, operational activities, and Project Management.
  • Review, proactively analyze, and resolve application issues as needed.
  • Mentor and share technical knowledge and guidance with the team.
  • Apply strong ITIL process knowledge to evaluate and correlate customer requirements with ITIL/industry standards.
  • Must be certified with ServiceNow Systems Administrator, ServiceNow Implementation Specialist, and ITIL V3 Foundation.
  • Possess good knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Handle customer meetings and provide weekly/monthly reports to customers and TCS management.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills in orchestrating customer requirements, needs, solutions, responsibilities, risks, challenges, and impacts.
  • Exhibit excellent team management skills to manage the project team and members effectively.
  • Participate and provide feedback during planning meetings (e.g., pre-iteration, retrospectives).

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience in ServiceNow custom application design and development.
  • Evaluate tool stability and performance, providing recommendations.
  • Knowledge of new ServiceNow modules (HRSD, SecOps, GRC, CSM, ITBM, etc.).
  • Preferred to have ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification.
  • Abilities to manage conflicts that may arise with customers and/or internal stakeholders.

Role Expectations:

  • Understand Architecture Solutions for the implementation or maintenance of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Work with Architects and customers for technical requirements, document them, play back, and baseline.
  • Develop a design aligned with the Architecture and technical requirements.
  • Lead a team of ServiceNow developers, web designers, integration SMEs, and QA analysts to build and deploy applications meeting customer requirements.
  • Perform Sprint activities (if agile) with the customer and the team, including developing user stories, estimating effort, prioritizing user stories, sprint planning, and assigning activities.
  • Advise on best practices and provide technical solutions or workarounds for issues/requirements.
  • Track and share the status of sprints/user stories with the Project Manager.
  • Identify and manage risks and challenges.
  • Ensure the quality deployment of the product as per the design.
  • Ensure the security and resilience of components as per the design.
  • Evaluate and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in delivery and/or design.

Special Requirements

Must be certified with ServiceNow Systems Administrator, ServiceNow Implementation Specialist and ITIL V3 foundation. Good-to-Have: Experience in ServiceNow custom application design and development. Knowledge on new servicenow modules ( HRSD, SecOps, GRC, CSM, ITBM, Etc..). Preferred to have ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Chicago, IL
