Role Overview
We are seeking a highly specialized ServiceNow Developer with extensive experience in the Vulnerability Response (VR) module to join a major financial institution’s security operations team. This role is based in Charlotte, NC, with remote flexibility, and requires a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience in the IT industry. The primary objective of this position is to enhance and maintain the ServiceNow SecOps environment, specifically focusing on the automation of vulnerability lifecycles and the integration of security scanner data into actionable IT workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement customizations within the ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) module to meet the rigorous security standards of the banking sector.
- Integrate third-party security scanners such as Qualys, Tenable, and Rapid7 with the ServiceNow platform to ensure seamless data ingestion and risk assessment.
- Automate the remediation lifecycle, including vulnerability identification, prioritization based on business impact, and assignment to appropriate IT teams.
- Develop complex workflows, business rules, and UI policies to streamline security operations and improve response times.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts and IT infrastructure teams to define risk scoring methodologies and remediation SLAs.
- Ensure the ServiceNow platform remains compliant with financial industry regulations (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS) through robust auditing and reporting features.
- Perform platform maintenance, including upgrades, patch applications, and performance optimization for the SecOps suite.
Domain Expertise: Banking and Finance
This position is strictly reserved for candidates with a strong background in the Banking or Financial Services industry. You will be expected to understand the unique security challenges and regulatory requirements inherent in financial environments. Your experience should include working with sensitive data, managing high-stakes security vulnerabilities, and operating within a highly governed IT ecosystem. The ability to navigate complex organizational structures and communicate effectively with security leadership is a core requirement.
Technical Requirements and Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in software development, with a significant focus on the ServiceNow platform.
- Deep functional and technical knowledge of the ServiceNow Security Operations (SecOps) suite, with a mastery of the Vulnerability Response module.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, and CSS for ServiceNow customization.
- Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and MID Server configurations.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and their intersection with security operations.
- Ability to work in an Agile environment and deliver high-quality code within established timelines.
Special Requirements
12+ years experience required. Banking/Financial profile only. TCS competitor profiles are restricted. Local candidates in Charlotte, NC preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $45 – $55 per year
