Position Summary
Scalable Systems is looking for an experienced ServiceNow ITSM Developer to join our client’s team in San Francisco, CA. This is a high-impact, onsite contract position (C2C) requiring a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the IT service management space. The ideal candidate will be a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) with a deep understanding of the platform’s capabilities and a proven track record of delivering complex migrations and customizations. In the current 2026 enterprise environment, ServiceNow has evolved beyond a simple ticketing tool into a comprehensive platform for digital transformation, and we need a developer who can leverage its full potential to drive operational efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead ServiceNow data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime during transitions from legacy systems.
- Develop and enhance core ITSM modules including Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Service Catalog to align with modern ITIL 4 practices.
- Perform advanced configuration and customization of the ServiceNow platform, including UI Policies, Client Scripts, and Business Rules.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using JavaScript and Jelly scripting for complex server-side and client-side logic.
- Design and implement robust integrations using REST and SOAP web services to connect ServiceNow with other enterprise tools.
- Develop complex SQL and LDAP queries for data synchronization, user provisioning, and advanced reporting.
- Deploy and manage ServiceNow Mobile App and Virtual Agent features to improve user experience and provide self-service capabilities.
- Conduct comprehensive testing phases including Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Performance Testing.
- Manage the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) across Dev, Test, and Prod environments, ensuring smooth deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Mandatory ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification; additional certifications like Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) are highly preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 8 years dedicated specifically to ServiceNow development and architecture.
- Expertise in the ITIL framework and Agile/Scrum methodologies for project delivery.
- Strong proficiency in web technologies including HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, or CMDB is a significant plus for this role.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, business owners, and technical leads.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment.
Work Environment and Expectations
This role is based onsite in San Francisco, requiring daily presence at the client location to facilitate close collaboration with the internal IT team. As a C2C consultant, you will be expected to provide high-level technical leadership and contribute to the strategic roadmap of the ServiceNow instance. Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year
