Job Summary:

Sierra Consulting, Inc. is actively seeking a highly experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong background in eCommerce platforms for a long-term contract position in Framingham, MA. This onsite role requires a candidate with extensive experience in production systems, 24/7 support environments, and a deep understanding of SRE principles and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing large-scale eCommerce platforms, ensuring high availability and transaction volumes, and possess strong troubleshooting skills for complex production issues. Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic and Splunk, as well as familiarity with Angular applications and NoSQL databases, is crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong exposure to production systems and 24/7 support environments.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and DevOps practices to maintain and improve system reliability and performance.
  • Support large-scale eCommerce platforms, ensuring high availability and handling high transaction volumes.
  • Manage incident management, L1/production support, root cause analysis (RCA), and complex production troubleshooting.
  • Utilize monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic (APM, alerts, dashboards, performance monitoring) and Splunk for system health monitoring and performance analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and support Angular applications from an operational, monitoring, and diagnostic perspective.
  • Work with CouchDB / Couchbase or other NoSQL databases.
  • Ensure strong understanding and management of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and application runtime diagnostics.
  • Leverage programming languages and scripting for automation, operational tooling, and backend troubleshooting.
  • Perform performance testing using tools like Apache JMeter.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience with strong exposure to production systems and 24/7 support environments.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and DevOps practices.
  • Extensive experience supporting large-scale eCommerce platforms with high availability and high transaction volumes.
  • Strong experience in incident management, L1/ production support, root cause analysis (RCA), and complex production troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools, including New Relic and Splunk.
  • Working knowledge of Angular applications from an operational, monitoring, and troubleshooting perspective.
  • Experience with CouchDB / Couchbase or other NoSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and application runtime diagnostics.
  • Strong expertise in programming languages and scripting for automation, operational tooling, and backend troubleshooting.

Additional Information:

  • This is an onsite position in Framingham, MA.
  • The contract is for a long term duration.
  • Passport number is a mandatory requirement.
  • Rate is $55/hr on C2C.
