Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Administrator for a critical long-term engagement within the banking sector in Charlotte, NC. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 12 years of IT experience and a deep specialization in Snowflake cloud data platform management. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end administration, optimization, and security of our Snowflake environment, ensuring high availability and peak performance for complex financial data workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, manage, and optimize the Snowflake environment including performance tuning, resource optimization, and security protocols.
- Configure and maintain Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, roles, and user access controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Implement and manage data sharing, data cloning, and data replication across different regions and accounts.
- Monitor resource consumption and implement cost-saving measures through effective warehouse sizing and query optimization.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to design scalable data pipelines and storage solutions.
- Ensure robust security by implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), multi-factor authentication, and network policies.
- Perform regular system audits and health checks to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution to safeguard critical banking data.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in IT, with at least 5 years dedicated to Snowflake administration.
- Expert knowledge of Snowflake architecture, including multi-cluster warehouses, micro-partitioning, and time travel.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) as it relates to Snowflake deployments.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration patterns in a cloud environment.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale data platforms in the banking or financial services domain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Snowflake SnowPro Core or Advanced Administrator certification.
- Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, CCPA) within the financial industry.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to participate in face-to-face technical interviews and stakeholder meetings.
Special Requirements
Local candidate only; 12+ years profile required; Face to face interview mandatory; Banking domain experience is a must.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $50 – $58 per year
