Role Overview: Senior Snowflake Administrator

Teamware Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Administrator for a critical long-term engagement in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is specifically designed for a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in data architecture and cloud database administration. As a Snowflake Admin, you will be responsible for the health, performance, and security of our enterprise data platform, ensuring that our data infrastructure supports the complex analytical needs of a major banking institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, including environment setup, configuration, and ongoing optimization.
  • Implement and oversee security protocols, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), data encryption, and network policies to ensure compliance with banking regulations.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, performing capacity planning and cost optimization to manage Snowflake credits effectively.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to design and implement efficient data pipelines and storage structures.
  • Perform database maintenance tasks such as cloning, data sharing, and time travel management.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to data loading, query performance, and connectivity.
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripting languages and Snowflake-native tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and stakeholders.

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Database Administration or Data Engineering.
  • At least 4-5 years of hands-on experience specifically with Snowflake administration in a production environment.
  • Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, storage, and cloud services layers.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their integration with Snowflake.
  • Strong knowledge of data security best practices, particularly within the financial services sector.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and data integration patterns.

Domain and Location Specifics

This position requires extensive experience within the Banking and Financial Services (BFSI) domain. Candidates must understand the regulatory landscape and data governance requirements inherent in large-scale banking operations. Furthermore, this is a strictly local requirement for Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be currently residing in the Charlotte metropolitan area and be prepared for a Day 1 onsite presence. The interview process will include a mandatory face-to-face (F2F) component, so local proximity is non-negotiable.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $150,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
