Job ID: 1455
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snowflake Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge data warehousing solutions. As a senior member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for architecting scalable, high-performance environments on major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-native data architecture and the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust technical frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data warehouse solutions using Snowflake on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Define data architecture, data modeling standards (Star/Snowflake schema), and best practices for ELT/ETL processes.
- Lead data migration, modernization, and integration initiatives from legacy systems to Snowflake.
- Establish security, governance, and access control frameworks including RBAC and data masking.
- Optimize performance and cost through query tuning, workload management, and warehouse sizing.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver business-driven data solutions.
Detailed Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Snowflake architecture, specifically focusing on multi-cluster warehouses, data sharing, and Snowpipe for real-time ingestion. You must demonstrate proficiency in SQL and Python, with a proven track record of building complex data pipelines. A significant portion of this role involves optimizing Snowflake credit consumption and ensuring that the architecture remains cost-effective while meeting performance SLAs. You will be expected to manage the full lifecycle of data projects, from initial discovery and requirements gathering to deployment and post-production support.
Strategic Leadership and Governance
Beyond technical implementation, the Snowflake Architect will play a pivotal role in establishing data governance policies. This includes defining data retention strategies, implementing robust disaster recovery plans, and ensuring compliance with global data privacy regulations. You will work closely with the CISO and Data Privacy officers to implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and dynamic data masking to protect sensitive information. Your leadership will extend to mentoring junior engineers and conducting code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and architectural integrity. This is a long-term contract opportunity (12+ months) offering the flexibility of a fully remote work environment while supporting a dynamic and growing enterprise data ecosystem.
Special Requirements
Remote work environment. 12+ month contract duration.
