Role Overview: Software Engineer Lead – Capital Markets
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer Lead to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. This is a critical leadership role focused on delivering high-impact technology solutions within the Capital Markets domain. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end software development lifecycle, with a specific emphasis on the sales and trading lifecycle. As a lead, you will not only contribute to high-level architectural decisions but also mentor junior developers and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure financial applications.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership
- Lead complex software development projects from inception to deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
- Provide deep domain expertise in Capital Markets, specifically focusing on the sales and trading lifecycle, trade execution, and post-trade processing.
- Architect and design sophisticated technical solutions to solve complex business problems in the financial services sector.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, business analysts, and QA engineers, within an Agile delivery framework.
- Break down high-level business requirements into manageable technical tasks and provide accurate estimations for delivery.
- Influence senior stakeholders and decision-makers to adopt modern technologies and innovative perspectives on IT delivery.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous peer reviews, automated testing, and adherence to industry best practices.
- Manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment typical of the capital markets industry.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of seven years of professional experience in software development, with a proven track record of leading technical teams.
- Extensive experience in the Capital Markets domain, including knowledge of relevant financial products and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrable expertise in Agile methodologies and experience working in high-velocity delivery environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate straightforward and complex technical situations using judgment and innovative thinking.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks commonly used in high-frequency trading or financial platforms.

Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
