Position Summary: Rhapsody Integration Architect

We are looking for a seasoned Software Solutions Architect specializing in Rhapsody development and administration for a high-profile healthcare IT project in Lansing, MI. This hybrid role involves architecting, developing, and maintaining critical data exchange interfaces that support healthcare interoperability. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on the Rhapsody Integration Engine, ensuring that clinical data flows accurately and securely between various healthcare systems. This is a one-year contract with a strong possibility of extension, offering a unique opportunity to influence the digital health landscape in Michigan.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex integration solutions for new healthcare use cases using the Rhapsody Integration Engine (version 7.x preferred).
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and system designs.
  • Develop custom filters and mappers using the Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) to handle non-standard data formats.
  • Implement and manage EDI message designs, creating mappers and definitions to support diverse data exchange needs.
  • Write and optimize JavaScript code (v1 and v2) within Rhapsody filters to perform advanced data manipulation and logic.
  • Architect and develop API integrations utilizing SOAP, REST, and other web service protocols.
  • Manage data format translations across HL7v2, HL7 v3, FHIR, CCDA, XML, JSON, and flat files.
  • Lead CDA mapping and conversion projects to support Health Information Exchange (HIE) initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain secure database connections for MSSQL and Oracle environments.
  • Configure and secure transport protocols including TCP, HTTP, LLP, and OAUTH, ensuring compliance with healthcare security standards like TLS and certificate-based authorization.
  • Prepare comprehensive SDLC documentation, including code review suites and architectural diagrams.

Required Technical Expertise

Candidates must possess a deep understanding of healthcare IT standards and protocols. Expert-level proficiency in HL7 (v2.x and FHIR) and CDA standards is required. You should be intimately familiar with healthcare vocabularies such as LOINC, SNOMED, and RxNorm. Technical skills must include advanced JavaScript programming, SQL, and XML. Experience with IHE profiles and the implementation of solutions based on specific Implementation Guides (IGs) is critical. The role demands a professional who can navigate the complexities of transport encryption and security within a healthcare context. As this is a hybrid position in Lansing, MI, candidates should be prepared for a mix of remote work and on-site collaboration. The interview process will be conducted virtually via MS Teams. Compensation & Location

Salary: $95 – $125 per year (Estimated)
