Job Title: Software Solutions Architect Rhapsody Developer (2 Openings)
The State of Michigan is seeking two experienced Software Solutions Architects specializing in Rhapsody Development to support the MDHHS Health Services Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). This role is critical to enabling message tracking, developing new interfaces, and supporting integrations for major systems including MDSS, EDRS, MCIR, and MiHIN. The selected candidates will work under the DTMB Customer Services and MDHHS cross-matrix teams, focusing on enhancing automated processes, ensuring data integrity, and securing applications within the Health Enterprise Service Bus (HESB).
This is a 1-Year Contract position with possible extension, requiring onsite presence 2 days/week (Non-Negotiable). The interview process will be virtual via MS Teams, requiring video, screen sharing, and photo verification.
- Top Skills & Required Experience:
- Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x) – latest version expertise
- Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) – building custom filters, mappers, and configurations
- Message Payload Translation – converting between JSON, XML, HL7, and proprietary/legacy formats
- Web Services & Protocols – SOAP, REST, OAUTH, TCP-connections, LLP
- Transport Encryption/Security – TLS, mutual authorization via certificates
- Rhapsody Certification is strongly preferred.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Develop solutions for new use cases and interfaces based on business requirements
- Create technical requirements and system design documentation
- Build custom filters and mappers using RDK and EDI message designer
- Write JavaScript (v1 and v2) within Rhapsody filters
- Develop API calls (SOAP, REST, web services)
- Perform data format translations across HL7v2, HL7 V3, FHIR, CCDA, XML, JSON, and flat files
- Work with CDA mappings and conversions
- Prepare code review and SUITE SDLC documentation
- Develop database connections for MSSQL or Oracle
- Configure TCP, HTTP, LLP, and OAUTH connections per standards
- Oversee overall system design, code, and configuration

- HL7 version 2.x messaging
- HL7 FHIR
- CDA standards and related document types
- Healthcare vocabularies: LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm
- Health Information Exchange (HIE) technology
- Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)
- Implementing solutions based on Implementation Guides

Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year
