Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in Healthcare IT and Interoperability to join our team. This is a remote, 6-month contract position with the potential for extension, though extensions are not guaranteed. The ideal candidate will have 11-15 years of experience in designing, governing, and supporting scalable and secure interoperability solutions for a healthcare EHR platform. This role requires close collaboration with product, engineering, QA, business analysts, and external healthcare clients to define technical architecture, integration standards, and interface designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of healthcare integration solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain technical architecture, integration standards, and interface designs for healthcare EHR platforms.
- Oversee and guide the implementation of EDI, HL7, FHIR, and Web Service-based integrations.
- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering and business teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Proactively identify and address risks, gaps, and inconsistencies in business and data workflows.
- Participate actively in Agile planning, estimation, and backlog grooming sessions.
- Support production integrations, monitor performance, and ensure data integrity.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data flow diagrams and integration guides.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, partners, and internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of interoperability solutions.
- Ensure solutions adhere to healthcare industry regulations and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in healthcare interoperability and solution architecture.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 11-15 years of professional experience in Solution Architecture, preferably within the Healthcare IT domain.
- Extensive knowledge of Healthcare Interoperability standards such as HL7 (v2, v3), FHIR, X12, and CCDA.
- Proven experience in Solution Architecture & Integration Design.
- Proficiency in Web Services & APIs, including REST, SOAP, and JSON.
- Experience with EDI and Integration Engines, with a strong preference for Mirth Connect.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and integration support.
- Experience working with EHR platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
