Role: Solution Architect Kong & API Gateway
We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in API architecture and integration, specifically focusing on Kong Konnect and Kong Gateway.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in API architecture and integration.
- Proven experience with Kong Konnect and Kong Gateway.
- Hands-on experience with decK, declarative configs, workspaces, and RBAC.
- Strong understanding of security patterns including mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, API keys, and WAF.
- Experience with GCP, Linux, networking fundamentals, and cloud-native design.
- CI/CD and IaC experience (Git, Terraform pipelines).
- Experience with observability, auditing, and compliance integration for enterprise APIs.
About the Role:
This role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust API solutions using Kong. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, scalability, and performance of our API gateway infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern API security best practices and cloud-native architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement API gateway solutions using Kong Konnect and Kong Gateway.
- Configure and manage Kong components, including decK and declarative configurations.
- Implement and enforce API security policies using various authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Integrate API gateway with cloud platforms (GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain IaC scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Ensure API observability, auditing, and compliance requirements are met.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless API integration and adoption.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API gateway performance and security.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $100 – $150 per year (Estimated)
