Position Summary
Metrix IT Solutions INC is looking for a dedicated MS SQL Database Administrator to join our team for a contract engagement in Miami, FL. The successful candidate will be a core engineer responsible for the implementation, planning, and ongoing management of critical Database Management Systems. This role demands a systematic and disciplined approach to solving business problems through technical innovation. You will be part of a dynamic team ensuring the stability and performance of our SQL Server environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server instances across various environments.
- Perform advanced Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) to ensure maximum efficiency of database operations.
- Manage comprehensive backup, restore, and recovery models to safeguard organizational data.
- Configure and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, specifically utilizing Always On Availability Groups.
- Handle database replication features and manage user permissions to maintain strict security protocols.
- Provide 24/7 support as part of a rotation to ensure continuous database availability.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams on Windows Server and Active Directory integrations.
Technical Skills Required
- 4-6 years of professional experience as a SQL Server Administrator.
- Deep understanding of SQL Server Always On features, including configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SQL Server Replication and performance monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments and Active Directory security.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for complex database issues.
- Proficiency in T-SQL for administrative scripting and automation.
Operational Requirements
Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a team-oriented environment. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential for this role, as you will be tasked with resolving high-pressure database outages and performance bottlenecks. This position requires a commitment to a 7×24 support model when necessary. Salary: $110,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
