Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled SQL Server Database Architect with expertise in AWS migration to join our team in Irvine, CA. This is an onsite contract position.
- 7+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server migration, specifically from On-Premises to AWS EC2.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server performance tuning, configuration, and optimization.
- Proficiency with AWS services including EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions such as Always On, Failover Clustering, and Backup/Restore strategies.
- Experience in database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with hybrid environments and Data Center Exit programs.
- Understanding of Windows Server platforms (2016/2019/2022).
- Exposure to automation tools like Terraform or DevOps CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Java/.NET application teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the SQL Server migration project from on-premises infrastructure to AWS EC2.
- Perform database provisioning, tuning, and optimization within the AWS environment.
- Ensure adherence to security policies, access control, and data protection measures.
- Support cutover activities, testing phases, and post-migration validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance issues.
- Collaborate closely with cloud, infrastructure, and application development teams.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $65 per year
