Position Summary
ConvexTech is looking for a Senior Application Developer to support the development and maintenance of the Currency Data Accountability Platform (CDAP). This high-impact application leverages AWS serverless architecture and cloud-native services to ensure data integrity and accountability in a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will work on-site at Federal Reserve Board (FRB) locations in Washington, DC, contributing to a mission-critical project that demands technical excellence and a deep understanding of secure cloud development practices.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python, focusing on scalability and performance within an AWS serverless ecosystem.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to deploy resources using AWS CDK or Terraform, ensuring consistent and repeatable environment setups.
- Model and implement complex business processes using AWS Step Functions to orchestrate serverless workflows.
- Build and optimize container-based applications using Docker, integrating with RESTful APIs.
- Develop modern, responsive front-end interfaces using Angular or React with TypeScript.
- Implement comprehensive logging and auditing solutions using AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail to meet regulatory compliance standards.
- Perform remediation and unit testing of code to ensure high quality and reliability throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to design discussions and providing detailed technical documentation.
Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least seven years of professional experience in software development following the full SDLC.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular/React).
- Extensive experience with AWS services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, and Load Balancers.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines for automated building and deployment of cloud applications.
- Proficiency with version control systems, specifically GIT or GitLab.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments with a focus on security and auditability.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $198,000 per year (Estimated)
