Job Title: Sr Data Engineer
Technology Hub is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer for a long-term contract role. This position requires the candidate to be local to Virginia and work onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extract data from OneLake.
- Transform and process large-scale datasets.
- Load data into Snowflake / AWS S3.
- Build and optimize data pipelines.
- Perform PySpark optimization & performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot pipeline and data issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, governance, platform).
Tech Lead Expectations:
- Lead sprint ceremonies and manage workflows.
- Ensure timely delivery of team objectives.
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
- Work closely with architects and stakeholders.
- Excellent written & verbal communication.
Required Skills (Must Have):
- AWS: EMR, Glue, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch
- Programming: Python (scripting, pipeline development), SQL, Bash
- Big Data: Spark, Databricks
- Data Warehousing: Snowflake
- Databases: DynamoDB / NoSQL
- APIs & Data Integration
- Agile & JIRA experience
Nice to Have:
- Kafka, Airflow
- Delta Lake / Hudi / Iceberg
- Splunk, New Relic
- GitHub, Jenkins
- Prior Capital One experience
- Operational continuity
This role is ideal for an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in AWS, Python, and big data technologies like Spark and Snowflake. The candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining data pipelines and ensuring data quality and performance.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $70 – $90 per year (Estimated)
