Position Overview: Senior DevOps Engineer
StellarIT Solutions is currently seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Senior DevOps Engineer for a long-term, hybrid opportunity with our prestigious Fortune 500 client located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. This is a pivotal role within the organization, designed for a professional who excels in cloud infrastructure management, automation, and the continuous improvement of software delivery lifecycles. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of implementing cutting-edge cloud solutions and ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of enterprise-level applications.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Cloud Infrastructure Leadership: Lead and guide the cloud operations team on the AWS platform. You will be responsible for the architectural integrity and operational excellence of the cloud environment.
- AWS Management: Demonstrate a deep and comprehensive understanding of AWS infrastructure and services. This includes, but is not limited to, VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, and other related components essential for a robust cloud presence.
- CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines from the ground up. Proficiency in tools such as GitHub Actions (GHA), Jenkins, TeamCity, or Azure DevOps is mandatory. You must have the ability to develop these tools to meet specific project requirements.
- DevSecOps Implementation: Drive Git-based DevSecOps initiatives. This involves establishing and enforcing branching strategies, branch protection rules, and ensuring source code hygiene through advanced automation and release strategies.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Utilize your expertise in container technologies, specifically OpenShift/ROSA, Kubernetes, and Docker, to manage and orchestrate containerized applications effectively.
- Programming and Scripting: Apply hands-on experience in programming languages like Java and .Net to automate tasks and integrate various systems within the DevOps ecosystem.
- Database Management: Leverage strong SQL writing skills to interact with and manage databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Operational Support: Participate in an on-call rotation and be available for weekend work as required to maintain system uptime and address critical issues in a timely manner.
Required Technical Qualifications
- Extensive experience in AWS cloud architecture and administration.
- Proven track record of developing and optimizing CI/CD workflows in an enterprise environment.
- Expert-level knowledge of Git and version control best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift orchestration platforms.
- Strong background in software development using Java or .Net.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and database administration concepts.
- Experience working within a Fortune 500 environment is highly preferred.
Work Environment and Candidate Requirements
This position is based in Research Triangle Park, NC, and follows a hybrid work model. Due to the nature of the project and the need for occasional on-site collaboration, we are strictly looking for local candidates. Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year
