Position Summary
Sharpedge Solutions is seeking a seasoned Senior IT Specialist for a long-term contract position based in New York City. This onsite role is designed for a technical expert with over 8 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure and server support. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of critical IT systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across a diverse technological landscape. This is a high-impact role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on technical execution.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administration for Windows Server and Desktop environments, ensuring all systems are optimized for performance and security.
- Manage Active Directory infrastructure, including the implementation and maintenance of Group Policy Objects (GPO), user authentication, and access controls.
- Oversee Nutanix Hypervisor environments, with a specific focus on dark-site patching and virtualization management in secure environments.
- Utilize PowerShell and other scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks, streamline system deployments, and improve operational efficiency.
- Configure and troubleshoot essential networking services, including DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations to maintain secure connectivity.
- Support enterprise-grade server hardware, storage solutions, and RAID configurations to prevent data loss and hardware downtime.
- Develop and execute robust disaster recovery plans, including regular backup verification and system restoration testing.
- Manage system patching and firmware updates across the entire infrastructure stack to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Implement proactive system monitoring and performance tuning to identify and resolve bottlenecks before they impact business operations.
- Provide high-level technical support for complex infrastructure issues, participating in an on-call rotation as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT infrastructure with broader business objectives and security compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure support. Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory is mandatory. Hands-on experience with Nutanix Hypervisor is highly preferred, particularly in environments requiring dark-site patching protocols. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in networking fundamentals and have a proven track record of managing large-scale server and storage environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle onsite support requirements in a fast-paced New York City environment are essential.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
