Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to join a high-impact team within the Finance Organization of a major financial institution in Reston, VA. This role is specifically focused on supporting the Treasury team and their critical Trading Suite of applications, including Treasury Bridge, SUMMIT, and Transaction Modeling. These applications are essential for managing debt and derivative securities and are both customer-facing and internal. The ideal candidate will be a technical powerhouse with over 12 years of experience, capable of working across multiple platforms and integrating cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI (GenAI) into existing financial pipelines.

Technical Stack and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-complexity system-level applications using Java 17 and above.
  • Implement and optimize data sourcing pipelines using Python.
  • Build and maintain responsive user interfaces using Angular (NgRx, RxJS, TypeScript).
  • Architect and deploy cloud-native solutions on AWS, utilizing ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, and Step Functions.
  • Integrate GenAI capabilities to enhance application functionality and automation.
  • Design and manage microservices architectures with Spring Boot.
  • Optimize SQL queries for Postgres, Oracle, and Redshift databases.
  • Ensure robust application security and performance through DevSecOps practices.
  • Perform unit and automation testing using Junit, Mockito, Selenium, and Cucumber.

Project Scope and Impact

As part of a major transformation effort, you will help unify the trading experience in Treasury by implementing product capabilities for complex financial instruments. This is an agile environment where you will be expected to demo your stories, participate in business interactions, and proactively support application operations in production. You will work on both greenfield projects and legacy application maintenance, ensuring a smooth transition and continuous improvement of the Trading Suite. The role requires expert-level skills in enterprise application integration and a deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Requirements and Interview Process

Candidates must have a minimum of 12 years of professional software development experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, and professional certifications are highly desired. Due to the seniority and critical nature of this role, the interview process includes a mandatory Face-to-Face (F2F) interview in Reston, VA, which will involve hands-on coding and screen-sharing sessions. Experience in the mortgage or finance industry, particularly with Fannie Mae systems, is strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be interacting directly with business stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 per year (Estimated)
