Position Summary
Global IT Family is seeking a Senior .NET Developer for a high-impact project with the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). This role involves the analysis of existing legacy applications and the architecture of new, modern web applications to support state-wide health initiatives. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid capacity, collaborating with project managers, business analysts, and functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the full software development life cycle (SDLC), from initial requirements gathering and conceptual design to deployment and maintenance.
- Develop high-quality code using C#, ASP.NET, and MVC frameworks, adhering to object-oriented programming best practices.
- Write detailed technical specifications and documentation to guide the development process and ensure long-term maintainability.
- Perform rigorous unit testing and participate in peer code reviews to maintain high standards of software quality and security.
- Collaborate with the EDI team to ensure accurate and secure file exchanges with external trading partners, resolving data transmission conflicts as they arise.
- Address and remediate security vulnerabilities within applications, ensuring compliance with state and federal data protection policies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Work independently under general supervision, exercising independent judgment to solve complex programming challenges.
Technical Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience with ASP.NET.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with C# and MVC frameworks.
- 5+ years of experience working with Oracle SQL and database design.
- Proven experience in application security analysis and remediation across multiple programming languages.
- Strong background in developing and consuming Web Services (REST/SOAP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the Healthcare industry or public health sector.
- Understanding of EDI file formats and healthcare transaction sets.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related IT field is required.
Special Requirements
Local candidates only; Hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite in Indianapolis, 2 days remote); Initial interview via Teams, final interview may be in-person; Health Industry experience highly desired.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)
