Job Summary:

We are urgently seeking an experienced Sr. OCP Engineer / Openshift Engineer for a long-term contract position in Dallas, TX. This role requires an onsite presence and focuses on Red Hat OpenShift cluster administration, management, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Red Hat OpenShift Cluster Administration, including installation, upgrades, and platform management.
  • Manage Kubernetes workloads, including Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, and DaemonSets.
  • Administer Namespaces, Resource Quotas, and Limit Ranges.
  • Configure and manage OpenShift Networking, including Routes, Services, Ingress, and OpenShift SDN/OVN.
  • Oversee Container Image Management and Registries.
  • Implement and manage OpenShift CI/CD Pipelines using GitOps with Argo CD, Kustomize, and Helm Charts.
  • Deploy and manage OpenShift Operators and utilize the Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM).
  • Manage OpenShift Storage, including Persistent Volumes (PV), Persistent Volume Claims (PVC), OpenShift Data Foundation, and Ceph.
  • Configure and maintain OpenShift Logging using Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Fluentd.
  • Implement monitoring solutions using Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Ensure OpenShift Security through RBAC, SCC, and Network Policies.
  • Manage secrets using HashiCorp Vault.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and automation with Ansible.
  • Manage containerization with Docker.
  • Perform cluster monitoring, troubleshooting, and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies.
  • Engage in multi-cluster management and adhere to DevOps & Platform Engineering best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in Red Hat OpenShift Cluster Administration.
  • Proficiency in OpenShift Installation & Upgrades and Architecture & Platform Management.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes Workload Management.
  • Experience with OpenShift Networking and Storage Management.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps (Argo CD), Kustomize, and Helm.
  • Experience with Operators and OLM.
  • Knowledge of logging (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Fluentd) and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana) tools.
  • Understanding of OpenShift Security (RBAC, SCC, Network Policies) and Secrets Management (HashiCorp Vault).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation (Ansible).
  • Proficiency in Docker.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and backup strategies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Platform Engineering practices.
