Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Okta Administrator Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a critical role focused on enhancing our Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment through automation and best practices. The position is hybrid, requiring 3x/week onsite presence in Richmond, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Okta Administration and Engineering tasks, including hands-on configuration and development.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform scripts for Okta resource management (users, groups, applications, policies, etc.).
  • Manage user access and provisioning processes.
  • Build, integrate, and improve Okta integrations and application onboarding.
  • Develop and implement automation workflows to reduce manual provisioning and streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with various teams to support end-to-end IAM workflows.
  • Act as a mentor and trainer to internal associates and junior contractors, leveling up the team’s Okta and Terraform capabilities.
  • Provide guidance on IAM best practices, automation strategy, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to scaling and transforming the IAM environment.

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Strong Okta experience, encompassing both administration and engineering.
  • Mandatory hands-on experience with Terraform scripting specifically for Okta management.
  • Experience participating in Okta implementations or build-outs, not just day-to-day administration.
  • Comfortable working in unstructured or low-documentation environments.
  • Ability to own and manage work end-to-end.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience scaling or transforming IAM environments.
  • Strong background in Okta connectors (including LDAP) and identity lifecycle automation.
  • Prior experience in large enterprise IAM environments.
