Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager (Contractor) is a pivotal role within the Project Management Office (PMO) at our New York City location. This position is specifically designed to support System and Transmission Operations by providing high-level project management services. The successful candidate will work under general direction to implement and maintain standards, processes, and tools that drive project management excellence. The PMO environment in 2026 has evolved to require a deep understanding of agile-waterfall hybrid methodologies. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be expected to navigate these methodologies to provide the most efficient path to project completion. Your role in System and Transmission Operations is critical for the stability of the regional infrastructure. This involves rigorous risk management and the ability to anticipate bottlenecks before they impact the schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of project management standards and processes within the PMO.
- Ensure full transparency in project milestones, schedules, and cost reporting.
- Apply advanced project management principles to ensure successful project delivery within scope and budget.
- Collaborate with Project Leads and Systems Managers to update project schedules using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
- Provide analytical support for project performance, including variance analysis and cost tracking.
- Coordinate efforts across IT teams, business units, finance, and external vendors.
- Manage contract-related activities, including invoice tracking and budget monitoring.
- Prepare organized documentation and presentations for stakeholders at all levels.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in project monitoring, tracking, and facilitation.
- Strong financial and analytical skills for cost forecasting and impact analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority assignments simultaneously.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proven track record of effective customer service and vendor management.
- Experience in a PMO environment.
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera, or PI360.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Oracle-based systems (iProcurement, iSupplier, BI).
- Background in contract administration and budgeting.
- Experience supporting IT or Cybersecurity projects.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
