About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. QA / Test Engineer with a minimum of 13+ years of experience to join our team. This is a remote, contract-to-hire position (6 months) focused on the critical migration of Mainframe Jobs to Java and Linux-based applications. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of this complex migration process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases for the migration of Mainframe Jobs to Java and Linux-based applications.
  • Build and maintain reports that compare results during the migration testing process, identifying discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
  • Ensure the quality and performance of migrated applications on the Linux platform.
  • Utilize expertise in mainframe technologies (TSO, COBOL, JCL) and Java/Linux environments to validate migration outcomes.
  • Work with DB2 databases to perform data validation and integrity checks.
  • Leverage knowledge of AWS and PostgreSQL for testing and validation purposes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 13+ years of overall QA/QE experience.
  • At least 5+ years of direct experience in testing Mainframe Job migrations to Java and Linux.
  • Strong understanding of mainframe environments including TSO, COBOL, JCL.
  • Proficiency in Java and Bash scripting on Linux.
  • Experience working with DB2 databases.
  • Good knowledge of AWS services.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
