Role Overview
The Senior SAP BRIM SOM Functional Consultant is a critical hire for our enterprise digital transformation initiative. As organizations in 2026 continue to pivot toward subscription-based economy models, the SAP Billing Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) suite stands as the backbone of modern financial operations. This role specifically focuses on the Subscription Order Management (SOM) component, which is essential for managing complex customer lifecycles, from initial contract creation to automated renewals and usage-based billing triggers. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring that the S/4HANA environment is optimized to handle high-volume transactions with precision and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the functional design and configuration of SAP BRIM SOM modules to support diverse and complex subscription business models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into robust functional specifications within the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem.
- Manage the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, including business blueprinting, system configuration, unit testing, integration testing, and post-go-live support.
- Optimize the Order-to-Cash (OTC) workflow, ensuring seamless integration between SOM, Convergent Charging (CC), and Convergent Invoicing (CI).
- Utilize Advance Variant Configuration (AVC) to manage complex product hierarchies and dependencies.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices for provider contracts, order distribution, and master data management.
- Conduct detailed system demonstrations and lead training workshops for end-users and internal IT staff.
- Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority functional issues, performing root cause analysis in complex integrated environments.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of dedicated, hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA BRIM.
- Proven track record of successfully completing at least two full-cycle SAP S/4HANA BRIM implementations.
- In-depth expertise in SOM configuration, including provider contract management and order-to-billing integration.
- Extensive experience in the SAP Order to Cash (OTC) domain, with a deep understanding of financial flows.
- Familiarity with Convergent Charging, Convergent Invoicing, and Convergent Mediation is considered a significant advantage.
- Experience with SAP Fiori and the latest S/4HANA digital core functionalities.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
