Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP BRIM SOM Functional Consultant for a critical 6-month onsite engagement in San Jose, CA. This role is pivotal in driving the digital transformation of billing and revenue management systems for our client. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 3 years of dedicated SAP S/4HANA BRIM experience, complemented by at least two full-cycle implementations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end functional design, configuration, and deployment of Subscription Order Management (SOM) modules within the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the functional design and configuration of SAP BRIM SOM to support complex subscription-based business models.
- Execute at least two full-cycle SAP S/4HANA BRIM implementations, from requirement gathering to post-go-live support.
- Provide deep expertise in Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes, ensuring seamless integration between sales orders, billing, and financial accounting.
- Configure and optimize SAP S/4HANA SOM components, including product modeling, contract management, and order distribution.
- Collaborate with technical teams to integrate SOM with Convergent Charging (CC) and Convergent Invoicing (CI) for a unified billing solution.
- Utilize Advance Variant Configuration (AVC) to manage sophisticated product hierarchies and dependencies.
- Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into scalable technical specifications.
- Perform rigorous system testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex functional issues related to subscription contracts and billing cycles.
Technical Environment and Requirements
The ideal candidate must possess a robust background in SAP S/4HANA, specifically within the BRIM suite. In-depth knowledge of the OTC lifecycle is mandatory, as is the ability to navigate the complexities of modern subscription economies. Experience with Convergent Mediation is considered a significant advantage, as it allows for a more holistic approach to data processing. Furthermore, familiarity with the latest SAP S/4HANA releases and their specific SOM enhancements is required to ensure the client leverages the most efficient tools available. This role demands a consultant who can work independently in an onsite environment, providing leadership and technical clarity to the project team.

As a senior consultant, you are expected to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, bridging the gap between technical developers and business executives. You will be responsible for documenting all functional designs and configuration steps, ensuring a sustainable knowledge transfer to the client’s internal teams. The project duration is initially set for 6 months, with a high probability of extension based on performance and project milestones. Candidates must be prepared for a 100% onsite presence in San Jose, CA, adhering to the client’s collaborative workspace standards.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year
