About the Role:

The Client Digital Product Engineering team is seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer with experience in backend or full-stack development. This role is responsible for building information systems to support rapid growth while providing a seamless and intuitive customer experience. You will be part of the core service team at Tesla, owning order management, inventory management, used car end-to-end business, vehicle intake through trade-in/lease return, vehicle inspection/valuation, and the used car sales platform to support sales, finance, and operational teams in every global market.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support applications and systems within the team’s scope, including vehicle ordering, configurator, inventory management, vehicle inspection, and offering used car valuation.
  • Integrate with external auto dealers/vendors/auction companies and build the used car sales platform.
  • Write clean, maintainable, performant, and well-tested code to implement new features and fix bugs.
  • Write unit tests, integration tests, and work with QA to coordinate timely regression for new features.
  • Monitor live system metrics, respond to alerts, and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Investigate and understand existing system technical functionality and propose technical improvements.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to plan and prioritize new feature development.
  • Communicate changes in project estimates, dependencies, and blockers with affected stakeholders quickly.
  • Own feature development and projects through design, development, testing, release, and production.
  • Understand and improve the scalability, maintainability, availability, and visibility of applications.
  • Be flexible and quick to respond to changing business priorities and requirements.
  • Work with technologies such as .Net, C#, Go, Python, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes.

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, proof of exceptional skills in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of related practical experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in full-stack development.
  • Experience with microservices or service-oriented architecture.
  • Expertise with databases, including MySQL for structured data management and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and analytics.
  • Good unit testing and integration testing practices.
  • Flexible and motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a strong desire to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Experience writing code in programming languages like C#, Go, Python, or Java.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript (ES5/6), HTML, CSS, and the React framework for building intuitive frontend interfaces.
  • Familiarity with AI integration, including LLMs for tasks like generating pricing insights and agentic AI workflows for adaptive user experiences.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and key DevOps technologies.

Special Requirements

Visa: OPT, H4 and Citizen – No Green Card. Contract: 12 Months. Years of experience: 4-12 only, No senior candidates more than 12 years of experience.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $75 per year

Location: Fremont, CA
